Pauline Cairns Speitel began her career in Scots dictionaries with the Scottish National Dictionary, continuing in 2022 with the formation of Scottish Language Dictionaries Ltd, now Dictionaries of the Scots Language SCIO (DSL). Pauline has worked on many projects with DSL and was a major contributor to the publication in 2017 of the second edition of the Concise Scots Dictionary. She edited and contributed to DSL’s first non-dictionary book, 100 Favourite Scots Words, published by Luath in 2019.
