Grellmann (1787) cites the forms ‘Sunjo’ ‘The Hearing’ and Ne ʃchunele ‘I do not see’ from Continental gipsies. Smart & Crofton (1875) collected the form Shoon v., ‘to hear, listen’ from English Gypsies.
Form shoon also attested by Canadian Paul Pope (2013) which he defines as ‘to hear’.
